Sew: Together – The Legacy of Marion Stewart, on display at Dundee University’s Lamb Gallery is a tribute to Marion Stewart, nee Gracie, who taught embroidery and stitched textile design at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee for many years.
She encouraged the formation of the influential textile group Embryo in 1980, and many of her students went on to forge successful careers.

Since opening in 1978, Eduardo Alessandro Studios in Broughty Ferry has staged an annual summer show to showcase the wealth and diversity of artistic talent in the north-east of Scotland.
This year’s show, which runs until August 31, will display a selection of paintings, ceramics, wood, jewellery and applied arts by well-known and emerging names.

information. V&A Dundee’s second visiting exhibition, Videogames: Design/Play/Disrupt, runs until September 8 and celebrates the design and culture of contemporary videogames.
This is the first exhibition to consider the complexity of videogames, positioning them as one of the most important design fields of our time.
The ground-breaking exhibition focuses on videogames designed and developed since the mid-2000s, when major technological advances transformed the way games were designed, discussed and played.
It explores current international debates as well as the creative contributions made to game culture by the players themselves.
The event includes a major new commission from Glasgow-based illustrator Ursula Kam-Ling Cheng, who is creating a colourful and chaotic mural inspired by virtual worlds.

Dundee Photo Tours offer guided photo tours through the city centre, taking in the Caird Hall, Courier publishers DC Thomson and Co Ltd, McManus Art Gallery and Museum, the City Churches and the DCA, not to mention some of Dundee’s most famous residents, like Oor Wullie, Desperate Dan and Minnie the Minx.
The tour will end at V&A Dundee. Tours run every Saturday at 10.30am and 2.30pm, Tuesdays at 6.30pm and Thursdays at 10am until October 31.
