Sheaf has put pen to paper on deal at County

-

Max Sheaf has earned himself a move to Ross County after catching the eye of the cinch Premiership club with his impressive form for Redditch.

The 23-year-old Englishman has moved north for an undisclosed fee and has signed a two-year contract with the Staggies.

Sheaf made his professional debut for Hull in 2019 in the Championship before spells at Cheltenham, Torquay and Gloucester.

He joined Redditch last year and scored eight goals in more than 50 games for the Southern League Premier Division outfit.

“I am delighted with the signing of Max, he comes to us on the back of a great season at Redditch,” said manager Malky Mackay.

“Our recruitment department identified him as a player of interest and he comes as another young hungry talent who wants to commit his future to Ross County.”

Redditch boss Matt Clarke is delighted to see the midfielder earn a move back into fulltime football after “lighting the place up” last term.

“I’m really pleased for Max. He came in at a time where he had probably fallen out of love with football and when he came in, he was a breath of fresh air,” said Clarke.

“He lit the place up with his goals, his freekicks, his assists, his football and his attitude has been outstanding. He’s been very driven to get back into full-time football.

“I promised him that he’d be with us for one season. I said that if he comes with us and does well then by the end of the season he’ll realise his dream of being back in full-time football.

“I’m chuffed he’s got a move, not just to a fulltime club, but a move to a team that are playing in the top level in Scotland.”
