EMERGENCY: Police seeking witnesses to horror crash on A823
A motorcyclist has been killed in a Perthshire road accident.
The accident, which also involved a car, happened on the A823 between Coupar Angus and Blairgowrie at around 5.25pm on Thursday.
Police and other emergency services attended at the scene.
“Sadly, the 32-year-old motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries,” confirmed a spokesperson for Police Scotland. “Next of kin are aware but formal identification has not taken place.”
The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed their involvement with the accident saying: “We received a call at 5.28pm on Thursday April 5 to attend a road traffic collision on the A823.
“We dispatched two ambulances and a paramedic response unit to the scene.”
The fire service said they weren’t required to assist with the incident.
The collision happened nearer to the Coupar Angus end of the road and caused some traffic disruption while the accident was dealt with.
The road was closed to allow the vehicles to be removed and for accident investigators to examine the scene.
While the road was closed traffic was being diverted away from the scene.

The police have been looking into the circumstances surrounding the collision and issued a public appeal for information on the accident.
“Officers would like to hear from anyone who saw a green Kawasaki motorcycle prior to the collision on the A823,” said a police spokesperson.
“Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
While the victim hasn’t officially been named many people took to social media to express their condolences to the man’s family.
“Thoughts very much with all the family,” said one person while while another post said: “Thinking of his wife and children and family.”
Other people who had been in the area at the time area spoke of their shock through online posts.
