EBAC NORTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION TWO

-

Prudhoe YC manager Kennie Malia admitted he has been surprised by his side’s impressive introduction into life in the Northern League.

The former Northern Alliance outfit have claimed maximum points from their opening two games against Blyth Town and Sunderland West End.

They will look to continue their winning streak when they visit fellow newcomers Boro Rangers on Saturday and Malia has warned his squad against getting carried away ahead of the trip to New Ferens Park.

He said: “It’s been an unreal start to the season and we didn’t expect

“I think we have to manage expectations, this is about taking one game at a time and not getting carried away.

“We have noticed a massive difference from the Alliance and we have to be on it from minute one.”

Malia confirmed he has a strong squad for the game.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Newcastle University and Blyth Town go looking for their first points of the season when they meet at Kimberley Park.

Experienced duo James Armstrong and Craig Hubbard could start for Sunderland West End in their trip to Boldon CA and Jarrow are without Luke Hudson for their home game against Brandon United.

Horden CW are boosted by the return of goalkeeper Paul Griffith for their home clash against Chester-le-Street Town and unbeaten Chesterle-Street United host Washington at Riverside Complex.

Easington Colliery will hope to continue their perfect start to the campaign with a third consecutive win at Birtley Town and two fancied sides meet at Kingsley Park as Ryton and Crawcrook Albion host Billingham Synthonia.

Billingham Town will look to inflict a third consecutive defeat on Willington and Esh Winning will hope to get off the mark when they entertain Redcar Town.
