JUST four points separate the top four sides with the top two neck and neck.
AFC Killingworth moved into the driver’s seat when they replaced Cullercoats at the top, winning 4-2 with Callum Hope bagging a brace.
That double was sandwiched between an opener from Colin White and a late fourth courtesy of Konner Lamb (his tenth in the league).
Cullercoats responded through Michael Laws at the start of the second half and Joe Thompson late on.
Wallington moved level on points with Killy after they eased to a 4-1 victory at North Shields Athletic.
Goals from John Paxton, Jordan Nellis and Michael Angus had them three to the good at the interval.
It stayed that way until very late on when Matty Slee pulled one back for the hosts – only for Josh Laverick to wrap it up with the fourth counter in the last minute.
Newcastle Chemfica remain in fourth but dropped points when losing 3-1 to Ponteland United.
Ryan Payne nabbed a brace for the victors and Malik Kalimba a late third before Sado Djalo grabbed a consolation in stoppage time.
Paul Collinson is having a great time in front of goal for Percy Main Amateurs, his hat-trick in their 3-2 home success over Alnwick Town taking him to 43 goals in 47 games for the club – his second coming from the spot.
Town, meanwhile, replied with a brace from Ross Gair, who also slotted home from 12 yards.
There was even more penalty drama at Newcastle Blue Star, three of which were missed as Louis Calvert failed twice from the spot. Fortunately he followed up the first to net the opening goal from a rebound and give Ponteland United the lead.
Both sides went on to miss further penalties, Darren Young levelling proceedings in the second period before Robert Jefferson grabbed what proved the winner late on.
A BRACE from Liam Robertson saw leaders Morpeth FC maintain their impressive 100 per cent start to the Division Three season, triumphing 2-0 at lowly Whitley Bay Sporting Club A.
The victory keeps them two points clear of the chasing pack as secondplaced Heaton Stannington A also prevailed 5-1 at Newbiggin Central, Layton Bruce with a hat-trick.
