1 TV presenters Rochelle and Marvin Humes this week announced they are proud parents to a baby boy called Blake Hampton Humes. The couple already have two daughters and former Saturdays singer and This Morning host Rochelle wrote on Instagram “I didn’t think I’d ever fall in love with another man but this guy has stolen my whole heart”.
2 SINGING star Ed Sheeran, left, says he has been on “cloud nine” since he and his wife Cherry Seaborn became parents for the first time in September with the birth of their daughter Lyra Antarctica. Her name was inspired by Ed’s love of Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials trilogy which features a heroine of the same name.
3 ACTRESS Sheridan Smith, below, became a first-time mum in May when she and her fiancé Jamie Horn became parents to son Billy. The West End and TV star said her lockdown baby had changed her life for the better and talked about her experiences in ITV documentary Sheridan Smith: Being Mum.
4 SINGER Katy Perry gave birth to her baby girl Daisy Dove in August with her Pirates Of The Caribbean fiancé Orlando Bloom. The couple said they were “floating with love and wonder” following the birth of their first child together. The couple set up a donation page for Unicef to mark Daisy’s birth with the money going towards helping new mothers and children.
5 HARRY POTTER star Rupert Grint, inset, became a dad for the first time in May, when his girlfriend Georgia Groome gave birth to their daughter. Rupert, aged 32, has the Angus, been dating Thongs and Perfect Snogging actress since 2011. The famously private couple have yet to reveal their child’s name but have been spotted pushing her in a buggy.
6 HOLLYWOOD stars Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara, below, had a baby son the summer and named him after Joaquin’s late brother River, who tragically died in 1993 from a drug overdose. Joaquin and Rooney met when they worked on the 2013 film Her, but did not start dating until three years later. Oscar winner Joaquin said he initially thought Mara ‘despised him’.
7 GAME OF THRONES actress Sophie Turner and singer husband Joe Jonas, pictured, became parents for the first time in July with the birth of their daughter Willa. The pair wed in a surprise ceremony in front of a few friends in May last year, in Las Vegas, and held a second ceremony in Paris in June.
8 FORMER One Direction singer Zayn Malik brought out new single Better just 24 hours after he and model girlfriend Gigi Hadid welcomed their baby daughter in September. The new father announced the birth on Twitter saying: “To try to put into words how I am feeling right now would be an impossible task.”
9 GUARDIANS Of The Galaxy star Chris Pratt and his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger welcomed their first child together in August. The 41-year-old actor wrote on Instagram “We are beyond thrilled to announce the birth of our daughter, Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt. We couldn’t be happier. ... We are extremely blessed”.
10 BRITISH actor Jude Law has become a father for the sixth time. He has three children from his first marriage to actress Sadie Frost and two daughters from previous relationships, and welcomed his sixth child in September when new wife Phillipa Coan gave birth. When asked how he found lockdown he said: “I’ve been gardening. Oh! And I had a baby. So there you go.”
