UNBEATEN Tynedale slipped to third after a battling 3-3 draw at home to Wallsend BCL.

Wallsend took the lead through Samantha Deverdics following a corner and she soon added a second, latching on to a through ball.

Siobhan Simpson hit the bar for Tynedale, while two good shouts for a penalty were waved away.

The hosts did find the net when Vicky Jane fired home and she was denied another when a Wallsend defender used her hands to stop her effort inside the area.

Megan Watson stepped up and rifled home the resulting spot kick to make it 2-2 at the interval.

Jane had an effort ruled out for offside before the visitors retook the lead through Jess Hooper.

With 10 minutes remaining, Jane stabbed home a loose ball to secure a point for Tynedale.

A second successive draw leaves Tynedale trailing Harrogate by four points - but with a game in hand.

Title favourites Durham Cestria moved up to second after their convincing 7-1 victory at Hartlepool United.

Lauren Robson, Jessica Clark, Jennifer Jennings and Chloe Ryan were all on target before Justine Robinson netted on the half-hour mark to make it 4-1.

Ryan added her second while Robson went on to complete her third successive hat-trick in the second period as the Cestrians maintained their 100% record.

Durham Cestria are three points behind Harrogate Town with two games in hand.

Fourth-placed South Shields secured a comprehensive 5-1 victory over York City, keeping their impressive unbeaten league record intact.

Dannika Purdham headed home a Paige Lester corner after 15 minutes and then scored again 10 minutes later, turning then shooting from the edge of the box.

There was a second for Lester from a corner four minutes later before Ainsley Strickland brought York back into it before the break.

Any York hopes of a comeback were ended, though, when Purdham, 25 yards out, shot over the goalkeeper for her second.

Five minutes from time, another Lester corner found Laura Howe at the back post and she poked home from close range.

Shields’ unbeaten league record now stretches back to January 29, 2017 when they lost 6-3 at York City Reserves.
