BEST OF THE REST
JOHN WORBOYS: THE TAXI CAB RAPIST ITV, 9pm
BLACK CAB rapist John Worboys is one of Britain’s most prolific sex attackers, who is thought to have assaulted more than 100 women.
In 2009, he received an indeterminate prison sentence for attacks on 12 women, but the Parole Board has ruled he is now fit to be released after only a decade, causing a national controversy and the case was raised in Parliament.
In this documentary, Susanna Reid speaks to victims and people who knew Worboys to ask whether he really is fit to be freed, or whether he remains a threat to women.
Featuring new testimony and archive footage, this is a chilling insight into the shocking case of how Worboys drugged and raped women while working as a taxi driver.
YOUNG SHELDON E4, 8.30pm
THIS new sitcom follows the childhood of the eccentric and extraordinary Sheldon Cooper. We’re amazed that it’s 11 series into the cult hit and only now has it spawned a spin-off about its most beloved character.
But Big Bang fans, this is far from a standard sitcom stream of gags, one-liners and misunderstandings. Young Sheldon has more of a Wonder Years feel – there’s comedy of course, but it’s also a family drama with heart.
Sheldon actor Jim Parsons narrates, while little Iain Armitage (a star in the making) plays a nine-year-old Sheldon who is already off to High School.
But it’s not easy being vulnerable and gifted in East Texas, where church and football rule, or indeed in his own family where he doesn’t fit in.
