No resting on laurels after Mammoth’s Spurs deal

-

A TYNESIDE bedding specialist is helping Tottenham Hotspur’s squad get to sleep after becoming the team’s official mattress and pillow supplier.

Mammoth Mattresses has signed an exclusive deal with the Premier League club which will see its mattresses used at Spurs’ new state-of-the-art private player accommodation lodge.

Dr Shabaaz Mughal, head of medical and sports science at Spurs, said: “We are always reviewing ways we can enhance the health and performance of our players to ensure they realise their full potential.

“Mammoth’s elite level mattresses enable players to have a consistent rest and rehabilitation experience both at home and when staying at the club’s new lodge.”

Mammoth, which is based at Cobalt Business Park in North Tyneside, has a long history of supplying its mattresses to elite athletes, and has seen its products used by the British Athletes Commission at two Olympic Games. The company also recently struck a similar deal with the Rugby Players’ Association.

The company’s mattresses use medical grade foam to improve the recovery of athletes while they sleep. They have been scientifically tested by experts at the Northumbria Centre for Sleep Research, which found that 29% of people fall asleep faster while using the mattresses.

Dr Jonathan Bloomfield, resident sleep expert and chief education director at Mammoth, said: “This latest agreement with Spurs firmly cements Mammoth as the ‘go-to’ supplier when it comes to improving player welfare, wellness and performance through sleep.”
