Colledge wants Horden to put on a better show this time at Colliery

-

Horden CW assistant manager Andy Colledge is looking for an improvement from his side when they make the short trip to local rivals Easington Colliery tonight.

A crowd of almost 600 watched an eagerly-anticipatedclash between the two sides last September as two goals from Kevin P earn inspired the Colliers to a 3-1 win over Jonathan Payne’s side.

The return fixture ended in an entertaining 3-3 draw just over three months later and Colledge is hoping for more from his side on Friday night.

Colledge said: “This is a huge game for both clubs.

“It’s a local derby, there’ll be a strong crowd and it’s a big game for us both.

“Personally, I think we have to do better than we did at their place last season.”

There was mixed news for Payne and Colledge as Nat Skidmore, Josh Home-Jackson and John Bowes all miss out, but Kieron Campbell, Ewan Simpson and Martin Fowler all return.

Elsewhere this evening, Sunderland West End look to build on their midweek win against Esh Winning when the visit Billingham Town and Billingham Synthonia host Chester-le-Street United at Stokesley Sports Club.

Leaders Birtley Town are also in action tonight as they look for an eighth win in ten games when they travel to Prudhoe YC.

On Saturday, Ryton and C raw crook Albion are without the suspended Joe Thompson and Shaun Pickford for their visit to Blyth Town.

Boldon CA will hope to move into the top ten with a home win against Washington, while Willing ton will look to avoid a fourth consecutive defeat when they head to inform Brandon United.

Bottom of the table Newcastle University are the visitors to Esh Winning and Redcar Town host Jarrow at Mo Mowlam Memorial Park.

The visitors are hoping to have a new signing in their squad ahead of the game.

*Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of defender Willy Boly from Wolves, taking the club’ s summer transfers up to 19.

The Ivory Coast international, 31, has signed a twoyear deal at the City Ground to further bolster Steve Cooper’ s squad following a return to the Premier League.

Boly made 147 appearances for Wolves, but he failed to turn up for Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle, despite being named in the squad.
