Sunderland West End had something of a Halloween nightmare as they were hammered 7-1 at home by Wolviston in the Wearside League.

The night started brightly for Anthony Nelson’s side as they took the lead with a fifth-minute goal from John Butler.

But the visitors were back level within a minute thanks to a goal from Dan Drazdauskas.

Wolviston then went into overdrive and took a 5-1 lead into half-time with goals from Jordan Jacques, Phil Otele, Josh Chambers and Mikey McGee.

Top scorer McGee took centre-stage after half-time by completing his hat-trick with goals on 51 and 66 minutes to round off a fine night of work for the men from Metcalfe Park.
