Washington Sky Lounge continued their winning run with a 6-2 home win against Easington CIU - taking the top spot in the Premier League.

They took the lead after 15 minutes when Anth Hall had his shot saved by the keeper but put the rebound away.

Hall then doubled the lead after 30 minutes when he dived to head home a great cross from Steve Jones.

Washington picked up a third just before half time when Steve Turner came through two tackles and calmly side-footed past the keeper.

Turner got his second shortly after half time when he stroked in a free kick from the edge of the box.

Striker Paul Kindon put the fifth goal away when he outpaced the Easington defence to tuck home.

Easington, who never gave up, pulled a goal back when they were awarded a penalty and their man-ofthe-match Scott “Burns” Finlay slotted home.

Washington brought all their substitute­s on and it paid off when Steve Burns crossed superbly for Paul Diamond to net with a diving header.

The final goal came when Easington’s Lee Jackson finished off a great move with a cracking shot.

Referee Ken Short was praised by both teams for his control of the game.

Marden maintained their early-season form with a comprehens­ive win over Hartlepool WMC.

Micky Waller gave Hartlepool an early lead with a fine curling shot into the top left hand corner from the edge of the box.

Marden fought back when a speculativ­e effort from 25 yards by Stu Douglas crept under the Pool keeper.

Geoff Walker gave Marden a 2-1 half time lead when he side-footed in from six yards after a fine run by Alex Burnett.

Douglas added Marden’s third, and his second, after 60 minutes and further goals from Marden MOM Alex Burnett and the evergreen Frankie Deverdics secured the points for Marden.

Plains Farm Alldec Northern continued their impressive start of the season with a 3-0 win over Sunderland Ivy Legends.

After dominating possession with some slick passing, David Kennedy popped up on the six-yard box to blast the ball into the net making it a deserved 1-0 lead. The second goal started with Jeff Barnes bringing the ball out from right back and continuing his run which found him free at the back post to slot it home, making it 2-0.

Tony Veater freshened it upathalfti­mewithanum­ber of changes. The final goal came from super sub Darren Purvis playing a onetwo down the line and then coming inside to slot it home making it 3-0.

Man of the match was Karl Hodgson.

In Division Two, Washington Biddick Inn won 4-1 against Hartlepool Stag & Monkey.

Hartlepool Catholic Club beat Newcastle East End 2-0.

The opening goal came when Lee Ryan put a defender under pressure and the ball was lost, falling to the feet of Dave Smith who slotted past the keeper.

Ten minutes later, the same sort of pressing let in Marc Gibson to produce a calm, cool finish.

Just before the break the game was reduced to 10 a side with both teams having a player sent off. There was no further scoring. In Division One, Hartlepool Raby Arms hosted in-form Seaham Marlboroug­h and dominated from the off to run out 3-1 winners with goals from James Tummilty and Stephen Gofton (2).

In Division Four, Pennywell Vets eased to a 3-0 victory over lowly Walkergate.
