Desperate mum in plea to missing son

POLICE APPEAL AFTER MAN LEAVES HOME FOLLOWING ROW

A DISTRAUGHT mum is begging her missing son to come home – and reveals he has two offers of job interviews waiting for him.

Stephen Lincoln had been looking for work for months before he vanished from his South Shields home a week ago.

The 38-year-old’s mum, Patricia, has told The Sunday Sun he had become down recently after failing to find a job, and had started drinking.

Stephen left the house he shares with his parents on the evening of Friday, December 8 following a family row. Today, as police continue to Stephen Lincoln search for him, Patricia has begged her son to come home.

And the 69-year-old has revealed he has received two letters from potential employers offering him job interviews.

She said: “He hasn’t had a job for a while and that has been getting him down.

“We just want him to get in touch with us and let us know he’s OK.

“I’m starting to think the worst now.

“He has tried and tried to get a job and there’s two letters here for interviews, but I can’t get in touch with him. I haven’t heard from him at all,” she said.

“I can’t think of anywhere he might Patricia Lincoln of South Shields is making a plea for her son Stephen to come home after he went missing a week ago be staying. We are really worried. He didn’t say where he was going and nobody has seen him.”

And in a direct appeal to her son, Patricia said: “Please Stephen, just phone us. We are really worried. Whatever has happened, it just doesn’t matter now. Just please come home.”

Superfit Stephen previously worked for his father, as a heating engineer, but had to stop after under- going three operations. He has since kept himself busy with daily trips to the gym, and job hunting.

Mum-of-two Patricia added: “He lives a pretty normal life.

“He’s just quiet. He loves going to the gym and wandering round Shields then he would come in and try to get a job.”

Northumbri­a Police are now also appealing for informatio­n about Stephen’s whereabout­s. Officers have been contacted by the landlady of a boarding house in Newcastle where Stephen is believed to have stayed until Tuesday.

He told the woman that he had brought a train ticket and was planning to travel to Edinburgh.

A spokeswoma­n said: “Police are appealing for informatio­n to help trace a missing South Tyneside man. 38-year-old Stephen Lincoln left his home in South Shields on Friday, December 8 and was last seen in South Tyneside on Sunday, December 10.

“He was last seen wearing a woollen camouflage beanie hat, light grey zipped hooded fleece coat, blue jeans, black T-shirt and carrying a red sports holdall. He has a number of tattoos.”

“Officers are carrying out enquiries to trace him and are appealing for the public’s help.”
