BACK SPURS TO HIT EM FOR SIX

OUR TOP TIPSTER WITH ALL HIS BEST SPORTING BETS

-

MARINE get their moment in the sun on BBC1 today but Spurs should have few issues getting through.

The Merseysiders have done brilliantly well to get this far from the second tier of the Northern Premier League — the lowest level they have ever played at.

Their tight College Road ground will be a leveller given there are back gardens running down one side.

But the pitch will be disappointingly good. They could have done with a Herefordstyle mudbath but, even at this level, it should be a good playing surface in Crosby.

The lack of a home crowd is a major negative for the semi pros. They could also be rusty seeing as they have hardly played in the league thanks to the pandemic.

Problem

Jose Mourinho is likely to leave his biggest guns out but there should still be plenty of Premier League quality on show.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham play their usual sit back and counter attack tactics even against Marine though!

The problem is how to make money out of what should be a very one- sided match.

Put it this way, Marine are as big as 85/ 1 to pull off one of the greatest shocks of all time. Tottenham are 1/ 100 so you make a penny in the pound, with the draw at 90 minutes at 33/ 1.

The odds about Marine to score during the game look really stingy at 7/ 4.

One decent bet could be for the home side to have at least one card shown to a player in each half.

That looks a pretty safe bet at 2/ 1 with William Hill.

Another decent bet with the same firm is for there to be two or more goals scored in each half at 16/ 5. If you want bigger returns, the correct score market looks the best option.

Tottenham to win 4- 0 is 6/ 1 with Betway, 5- 0 is 13/ 2 with the same firm and 6- 0 can be backed at 9/ 1.

That’s the scoreline I’m having a few pennies on.

One Premier League side who could have a tougher afternoon is Brighton who

STRUGGLE: Brighton

STARS OUT: The likes of Gareth Bale may be in action at Marine take on Newport County on BT Sport at 7.45. It’s been a disappointing season for the Seagulls who sit just outside the Premier League drop zone.

Pressure is mounting on boss Graham Potter as his team continue to play some nice football but they simply don’t score enough goals.

They have won onces since September while Newport are having a good campaign and are hard to beat on their own patch.

Morale

They beat Leicester last season and have hit the target at least once in all their home games this term.

Brighton face a dilemma about whether to rest their main players and risk a damaging defeat while morale is already low.

There’s no sense in backing the visitors to win this inside 90 minutes at a skinny 1/ 2 with most firms.

You can make a stronger case for Newport to get the job done without extra time at 11/ 2 with William Hill.

The draw is 3/ 1 and you might want to have a little saver at that price given how tight this could end up being in south Wales.
