ANTON Du Beke fears he may get the boot from Strictly Come Dancing.

The last original professional is praying this will not be his last year on the show, says a source.

Last night, dancing the Charleston and Viennese waltz with Eastenders star Emma Barton, 42, he was hoping to win the glitterball for the first time.

They were up against former

Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher and partner Oti Mabuse, and CBBC presenter Karim Zeroual and Amy Dowden.

There are no guarantees Anton, 53, will be signed up again next year. And insiders said Anton could be moved to another role in the show – or explore opportunities elsewhere. Ahead of last night’s Strictly final, he said: “Strictly was life-changing for me. I’d been a competitive dancer previously, the show took my life in a completely different direction which is incredible.

“I’m the last original professional dancer. I love it so much and have an enthusiasm for it which hopefully comes across.”

Dad-of-three Anton said: “I’ve had the most remarkable time, the most brilliant time with Emma. We look like a proper dancing couple and that takes a lot of time. That is testament to Emma being just the most wonderful partner to spend time with.”

A source said: “Anton will always be part of the Strictly family but there’s a sense this year that it could be his last.” Last night a Strictly spokesman declined to comment.
