Monsters let out by a string of blunders

Marvyn Iheanacho had convictions for beating children and women when he battered stepson Alex Malcolm, five, to death in 2016 for losing his shoe in a South London park.

Probation services admitted he should have been under watch in secure accommodation but there was a staff shortage.

VILE Iheanacho killed Alex Stephen Unwin, 40, and William McFall, 51, were jailed for separate murders of OAPs in the 90s. After their release they raped,

tortured and murdered mum-of-two Quyen Ngoc Nguyen, 28, of North Tyneside, in August 2017. They burnt her alive in her car after the hours-long ordeal.

It later emerged blunders between police and the probation

service stopped them being tagged high-risk. Burglar Jordan Davidson was released from prison for burglary on licence in 2016 and officials decided he was not high-risk. He went on to kill Nicholas Churton, 67,

at his Wrexham home in a machete attack. Davidson, now serving 30 years, was reported to police eight times after his release but they failed to tell probation officers. Leroy Campbell, 59, had been in and out of prison for violent offences against women

since 1983 before being released from a 16-year sentence in 2016.

Four months later he raped and strangled Lisa Skidmore, 37, after climbing through her bedroom window in Wolverhampton. He then attacked her 80-year-old mother

like “doing it again”. Serial rapist was given 33 life sentences in 2019 for attacks on 11 women and children aged between 11 and 71.

He had been wrongly released from prison in 2019 because of a probation service mistake. He should
