Murray facing a gr-eight future

- Tim Hamer

Andy Murray has been tipped to play in another EIGHT Wimbledons with his new metal hip.

American doubles ace Bob Bryan underwent the same hip re-surfacing op as the Scot last August and was back in action at the Australian Open.

Mur ray, now 32, returned to doubles action last month after his surgery in January and is now eyeing a singles comeback.

Bryan, 41, has no doubts Murray can be a hit again.

He said: “I am really excited for him, to see him have hope again.

“He was losing hope with the pain. Not a lot of light at the end of the tunnel. I am glad he has that light now.

“Realistical ly, Andy could have another seven or eight Wimbledons left in him.

“My hip feels great, there is no soreness, and no tightness, that’s how Andy feels, too, it’s like having a fresh joint.

“I’ve had zero reaction to it, zero aches and pains. ThThat’s why we are here. We sstill feel we can hold up one oof these big trophies.

Murray and Bryan pplayed a practice set in ssingles at Queen’s last mmonth and the American aadded: “He was definitely ccontrolling all the points. HHe is fine.

“I 100 per cent feel he can pplay singles again. He has tthe work ethic and an iincredible team.

“He probably feels that hhe needs a bit of improvemment, but from my eyes he lolooks very ready.

“It’s a much different ssport, singles than doubbles, it’s 100 times more pphysical.

“I might be naive, but ffrom my experience, it’s ccertainly possible.”
