Murder bid hunt after hit and run
Three injured after car mounts pavement
had mounted a pavement nearby. Last night, police were still trying to establish if the two incidents were linked.
Officers are also trying to get a description of the vehicle involved in the attempted murder. One Gavin and Stacey get the giggles as they film TV’s biggest reunion of the decade. Stars Matthew Horne, 40, and Joanna Page, 42, shot scenes at Barry Island for a Christmas special – 10 years after the Bafta-winning comedy ended. James Corden, 40 – Smithy in the theory being investigated is the vehicle involved may have been a 4x4 as most of the kerbs in the area sit high on the road surface.
They are also investigating trouble in the Pig ‘n’ Whistle pub in McNeil Street, where the three had been drinking before being asked to leave by staff in the boozer.
Detective Sergeant Keith Runcie said: “The car had driven up on the pavement and therefore we are treating this incident as attempted murder.
“Officers had been called to a disturbance at the pub prior to the incident taking place and we are trying to establish whether both incidents are linked.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have been in The Pig & show he co-wrote with Ruth Jones, 52, who plays Nessa – joked around on set too, inset left.
The one-off episode will reveal if Gavin and Stacey’s long-distance romance between Essex and south Wales produced a baby.
Fingers crossed for another little cracker. Whistle pub or who witnessed the incident take place in Old Rutherglen Road to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
The victims were all taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary to be treated for their injuries. Medical staff described the condition of the man and woman who remain in hospital as being “stable”.
Yesterday, staff at the pub – known locally as the Piggy – were refusing to be drawn on the matter.
Workers at the convenience store were also in the dark yesterday.
One employee said: “Detectives have been in most of the morning going through our CCTV footage as there was a fight outside the premises after we had closed.”
