A mark of respect

Strath pays tribute to the fallen

- Lynn Duke

People of all ages marked Remembrance Sunday in Strathearn at the weekend.

Services were held in communities throughout the area.

The biggest attendance was at the parade in Crieff, which was organised by the Royal British Legion Scotland Crieff branch.

After a service at the parish church, veterans, army and air cadets, Scouts and Guides, and representatives from local organisations and Perth and Kinross Council, were led through Crieff to the war memorial by the massed pipe bands of Morrison’s Academy, Crieff High School and Ardvreck.

All generations came together to remember on Sunday, November 12.

Services were held in each community and wreaths were laid at the Strath’s war memorials, where a two-minutes’ silence was observed.
