Bee bus aims to get town buzzing
THE Destination: Bee Network bus will visit Rochdale on its tour of the region to ask for feedback on the transport network.
A public conversation has been launched on Greater Manchester’s journey towards an integrated transport system - the Bee Network.
It will be a London-style transport system joining together buses, trams, cycling and walking by 2024, with rail incorporated by 2030.
To help gather feedback which will inform further planning of the network, region leaders are encouraging those who live and work in the city-region to join the Destination: Bee Network Conversation.
The Destination: Bee Network bus will visit Stockport Interchange, Stand H6 between 10am and 4pm on Saturday, October 23 to gather feedback from residents in Stockport, on the plans.
Greater Manchester Mayor, Andy Burnham said: “The people of Greater Manchester deserve a world-class transport network where you can seamlessly travel across the city-region on buses, trams and trains - without spending a fortune each time.
“That’s why we’re now asking for people’s input on this key conversation about active travel and public transport across the city-region in the coming weeks - I urge as many people as possible to get involved.”
There are several ways people can get involved; either by completing the online survey before Friday, November 12, 2021, by visiting the Destination: Bee Network bus on its tour of Greater Manchester throughout October and November, or by clicking onto the dedicated webpage for more information.
