Dates announced of Christmas art bazaar coming to Reddish
THE award winning Reddish arts and wellbeing organisation Arc has announced the launch dates of its Christmas Art Bazaar.
Launching with an open event on Saturday, November 26, the Art Bazaar will be selling affordable art and craft items at the gallery until December 21.
The sixth annual Art Bazaar, based at the Reddish arts centre on Greg Street, gives shoppers the opportunity to pick up original and handmade gifts, Christmas decorations, jewellery, artwork, ceramics, textiles and much more.
Most of the pieces have been created and made by people who have participated in one of Arc’s programmes, and sit alongside art and craft work from local independent artists, designer-makers and photographers.
All of the proceeds raised from the Art Bazaar will go towards Arc’s fundraising, which aims to improve the mental health and wellbeing of adults and young people through arts-based projects, across Stockport.
The launch day is open to everyone and will see all of the work for sale, as well as a lucky dip and a raffle as part of the festive fun. Also included in the raffle is a signed MUFC pennant.
There will also be art and craft activities between 11am and 4pm throughout the day for all ages, including adults, to enjoy.
Centre manager Amy Whitehead said: “The Christmas Art Bazaar is our biggest fundraiser of the year, so every year we try to make it bigger and better.
“This year is the first year we’ve invited local artists and makers to also sell their products in the gallery, alongside our resident artists. This means we have so much more on offer this Christmas and we’re really excited about the launch day.”
Local artists include Lovely Little Lamp, Anita Draper, Andy Clayton, Susie Parry and YumiMakes and many more.
Even more artists will be added to the line up in the coming weeks.
The Christmas Bazaar launch event takes place on Saturday, November 26, from 11am to 4pm.
The Christmas gifts and art will then be available to buy from the gallery during normal opening hours until Wednesday, December 21.
The gallery at Arc is open from Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm.
The art centre is fully accessible and there is car parking at the rear of the building.
