Compstall cruise home at Buxworth

COMPSTALL won the toss in their Division One clash at Buxworth and, having elected to bat, went on to score 272-6, Rob Bradley with 62, P Jackson 56 and B Hegginbott­om 97.

In reply Buxworth struggled to 139 all out, C Reynolds making 32 as S Bass took 4-19 and A Jaiswal 3-37.

Hawk Green smashed 256-9 batting first at home to Old Glossop, S Messih with 43, Pete Richards 45, Jack Needham 38, Jordan Henderson 30 and Jason Downey a quickfire 57 coming in at nine.

E Walsh (3-51) and D Hall (4-93) the pick of the bowlers.

In reply T Wright hit 32 but Ryan Stringer took 4-11 and Jordan Henderson 3-25 to reduce Old Glossop to 154 all out.

New Mills were asked to bat by hosts Mottram and could only reach 144-5, M Birchenall top scoring with 31. A Metcalfe (66) and Stefan Fielding (65) were then both unbeated as Mottram cruised to 146-1.

Tintwistle batted first at Dinting and posted 158-9, K Davies with 45 and J Pool 38 not out with Peter Hills taking 4-58. In reply A Bleakley hit 51 as Dinting reached their target for the loss of 5 wickets, Ryan Nixon taking 4-43.

Dove Holes won the toss and elected to bat as they hosted Broadbotto­m, setting their visitors 191-9 as Jack Gregory hit 45, Tom Forder 43 with extras contributi­ng 35 as L Clarkson took 6-53. Ryan Welsh then hit 89 and Chris Cheetham-Roberts 51 as Broadbotto­m raced to 192-5.

Division Two leaders Hazel Grove entertaine­d Chapel. Winning the toss and batting the home side scored 187-3 thanks to 75 from Geoff Noden and 46 from Nick Hayward. Mark Clayton then took 8-60 as Chapel were bowled out for 144.

Birch Vale chose to bat at High Lane but were bowled out for 123, Tom McIlvenney top scoring with 31 as Damien Paul took 3-22. Paul then made 41 as High Lane surpassed their target 6 wickets down.

Stalybridg­e were put in to bat by visitors Offerton and made 217 all out< M Mallett finishing 53 not out, D Collins hitting 40 and A Harwick 35 while J Thelwell took 5-58. Offerton then collapsed to 61 all out as M Mallett took 4-15.

Charleswor­th won the toss at Woodley and elected to bat, a decision they may have regretted as they were all out for just 87, Elliott Morley scoring 30 as P Turner took 6-22 and C Hayes 3-37. B Qasim hit 35 in the Woodley reply as they closed 88-3.

In Division Three, Charleswor­th collapsed to 39 all out as they were asked to bat by visiting Woodley, Will Adam taking 6-13 and D Hotson 3-9. Woodley then recovered from 26-4 to 43-4 to claim victory.

Old Glossop were bowled out for 120 at home to Hawk Green, S James with 63 as Luke Young took 4-24 and George Ridings 3-40. It was more than enough though as Hawk Green could only make 54, Craig Young with 36 of them as J Wright took 5-17 and Ivan Twist 5-34.

In Division Four, Birch Vale posted 179-4 as they hosted High Lane, M Wasim hitting 66 and C Platt an unbeaten 65. High Lane saw Zunnur Choudhury make 30 and S Khalifa 33 but 3-34 from C Garlick saw the visitors boweled out for 139.

Table topping Hazel Grove hit 201-2 batting first at Chapel, Andy Oldfield hitting 135 not out and Mike Burnard 34. M Wagstaffe then hit 57 but Colm Nunn took 4-21 and Cameron Forsythe 3-39 to reduce Chapel to 163 all out.

Buxworth were bowled out for 77 by hosts Compstall, V Clarke taking 3-29. D Bedworth then took 3-14 and J Winfield 3-11 as Compstall also struggled, eventually winning by just one wicket at 79-9.

Offerton elected to bat at home to Stalybridg­e and were 101 all out, S Rehman hitting 38 and U Shah 38 as M Bashir took 5-18. Stalybridg­e claimed another win as they closed 104-6.
