STOCKPORT’S radio station Pure 107.8FM will be launching their very own real ale at this year’s CAMRA Stockport Beer and Cider Festival. Living For The Weekend Presenter Paul Holloway took a trip to Fool Hardy’s Micro Brewery.

Here at Pure we’re getting ready for CAMRA’s 29th Stockport Beer and Cider Festival which takes place from Thursday, May 28 to Saturday, May 30, at Edgeley Park.

And this year we’re extra excited, as we have teamed up with Fool Hardy Ales which is brewed at the Hope Inn right here in Stockport, they are creating our very own special festival ale.

We asked Pure listeners to suggest a name for our limited edition real ale. Congratulations to Liam Smith who came up with the best suggestion in the opinion of our panel. ‘Rockin with Pure’ will available for you to sample at the Stockport Beer and Cider Festival. It’s going to be a pale, hoppy ale with subtle citrus flavours.

Everyone who made a suggestion went into the draw to win a VIP entry for two to the Friday session of the festival. Congratulations to winner Peter Eastwood.

I look forward to trying the beer at Edgeley Park. As well as a vast array of tasty real ales, perries and ciders on offer there is some great entertainment. Thursday Marple’s excellent Lazlo Baby will be treating drinkers to their infectious Balkan folk ska.

Friday it’s indie rock band Rook and the Ravens and Saturday there are three different bands performing.
