Night-time A84 road closures

-

Full road closures to enable roadworks on a section of the A85 east of Crianlarich are to take place over three nights next week.

The roadworks on a 1.4km section of the A85 east of Benmore Farm, commencing on Monday, March 14, will take place between 8pm and 5am each night.

All works are expected to be completed by 5am on Thursday March 17.

Due to narrow road widths, work will be carried out using a full road closure east of Crianlarich to allow it to be carried out safely.

Amnesty periods however will be provided at 9pm, 10pm, midnight, 2am and 4am.

During these times vehicles will be safely escorted through the site using a 10mph convoy traffic management system.

Motorists are encouraged to arrive in good time to ensure they are accommodated within the amnesty periods.

The A85 will be open outwith working hours, although a 30mph speed limit will be in place and road users should drive with care as they will be running on a temporary road surface.

Local access for residents and scheduled bus services will be maintained as far as reasonably practicable.

BEAR Scotland North West Representative Eddie Ross said: “This surfacing project on the A85 east of Benmore will help address any defects and greatly improve the condition of the carriageway for road users.

“The overnight closures are essential for roadworker and road user safety due to the narrow widths through this area of the A85.

“We’ve taken steps to limit the overall impact.’
