Trust seeks board members
Trustees are being sought to help guide future projects at historic Bannockburn House.
Bannockburn House Trust is looking for individuals to join its board of trustees.
The 17th century mansion was bought by the trust in 2017, after a two-and-a-half-year campaign by local volunteers, making it the largest community buy out in the UK.
With some of the original trustees now stepping down after four years of service, the trust is looking for new board members to help it take forward ambitious plans for the House and its grounds.
Chair of the Trust, Penny Ellis said: “We’re looking for people interested in shaping the future of our volunteer led project at a strategic level.
“No particular experience is necessary, just a keen interest in the project and a willingness to help us develop and safeguard the House for future generations.
“We would particularly like to hear from anyone living in or around Bannockburn, or with a connection to the area.”
Penny added:“Despite the challenges of the past year, our wonderful volunteers and dedicated staff have made great progress with the house and gardens. They have also played an important role in supporting and connecting the local community during lockdown with our growing projects, food larder donations and online social events to stave off loneliness.
“We look forward to restrictions easing and to being able to welcome more of our amazing volunteers back; and to eventually opening our doors to visitors again later this year.”
