Search for Tony goes on after two arrested Men were later released
MISSING CYCLIST INVESTIGATION
Searches for missing Tillicoultry man Tony Parsons are continuing this week in a desperate bid to find him, three years after he vanished.
It was revealed last week that two men were arrested in connection with Mr Parsons’ disappearance in September 2017.
It is understood a search has taken place at land located between Bridge of Orchy and Tyndrum.
A heavy police presence was seen at Auch Estate as a search was conducted on the grounds.
Police this week said that their investigations were continuing. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Our enquiries and searches are ongoing at this time.”
Two 29-year-old men were arrested and questioned in connection on Wednesday, December 30. The pair were later released.
Mr Parsons has not been seen since he embarked on a charity bike ride from his Wee County home on Friday, September 29, 2017.
He set off by train for Fort William, intending to return home by bicycle. But he failed to return home and was reported missing on Monday, October 2, of that year.
The then 66-year-old travelled south on the A82 and was last seen at around 11.30pm that night outside the Bridge of Orchy Hotel. He then continued south in the direction of Tyndrum but neither Mr Parsons or his bicycle has been seen since.
Mr Parsons is described as white, 5 feet 9 inches tall, of stocky build, with short greying hair, a moustache and glasses. He has a tattoo of an anchor on his upper right arm and a tattoo of an eagle on his left.
He was last seen wearing a red waterproof jacket, a blue long-sleeved cycling top, a high-vis vest, fingerless gloves, with beige combat trousers and walking boots. He was also wearing a silver and grey cycling helmet, and carrying a silver and blue rucksack.
