The community initiative is supported by Bridge of Allan Community Council, Bridge of Allan Parish Church and Bridge of Allan Co-op and will be hosted by a team of locally recruited volunteers who will guarantee a warm welcome to all.

ROCK’N’REEL

Fitness classes for over-60s with routines set to Scottish/contempora­ry music on Tuesday in Bridge of Allan Parish Church 2-3pm. Suitable for wheelchair users. Cost £4, including coffee. Call Tricia Chillas on 07740 676639.

YOUNG AT HEART

Low-impact dance fitness classes for ages 50-plus, Mondays in Bridge of Allan Parish Church Hall 2-2.45pm. Low impact class for 60-plus is available on Thursdays 11.15am-noon. Fridays from 11-11.45am (over 50s). Call Janice on 07565 182259.

BRIDGE OF ALLAN BOWLING CLUB

Members are reminded about Monday dominoes at 8.30pm and Wednesday’s short mat indoor bowls at 7pm.

REMEMBRANC­E SUNDAY

A short service of Remembranc­e will be held on Sunday, November 10 at 2pm at the cenotaph in Pullar Memorial Park to honour the war dead fallen in years gone by and today in far off lands. It is hoped there will be a large turnout of all ages to pay respects.

LECROPT KIRK

Sunday service begins at 11.30am. Act of Remembranc­e will be included in the service. Door duty as per rota, creche and Sunday school available, retiring offering in aid of Poppy Scotland. Joint evening service in St Blane’s at 6.30pm and both services are conducted by Rev Gary Caldwell. All welcome. Thursday at Lecropt continues tomorrow (November 7) in the hall from 2-4pm. A pre Christmas Fair will take place in the hall on Saturday, November 9 from 11am with the usual stalls A light lunch will be available for purchase as well as tea and coffee.

COUNCILLOR’S SURGERY

Councillor Graham Houston will be Bridge of Allan Library on Saturday, November 9 at 10am.

BRIDGE OF ALLAN PARISH CHURCH -

On Sunday, the Remembranc­e Service will start at 10.50am and will be conducted by Rev Dan Harper. There will be a creche and Sunday school and coffee fellowship will take place in the Chalmers Hall after wards. At 2pm there will be a Village Remembranc­e Service in Pullar Memorial Park. Bible Study group “The Challenge of Paul” continues in the Vestry tonight (Wednesday)at 7.30pm. The topic for discussion during the session is ‘How to Read a Pauline Letter’. This is a joint study group with St Saviour’s Episcopal Church and will run each Wednesday until November 20.

ST SAVIOUR’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH

Work is ongoing on the roof, so please note that venues for services have changed - Sundays 8am Eucharist in St Saviour’s Hall and 9.30am Sung Eucharist in Bridge of Allan Parish Church. Coffee/ tea are served in St Saviour’s Hall after the 9.30am service. Please note the service will be at 9.30am this week and will include the Act of Remembranc­e jointly with The Parish Church at 11am.
