SMART AFTERNOON
Friday, October 11 saw the first S.M.A.R.T afternoon of the session. Pupils in all year groups followed an alternative curriculum for the afternoon, taking part in a wide range of activities and workshops. S1 welcomed the fantastic Nil By Mouth, whilst S2 and S3 took part in a variety of different physical and creative activities, including; make up art, painting and decorating, pizza making, rock climbing, golf and swimming. The senior school were involved in range of activities supporting their study skills, career pathways, and mental health awareness.

SEASONS FOR GROWTH
The school is finalising names for Seasons for Growth groups for this term. Email sent home on October 2 with details. If you would like more information, please contact the PSD team through the school office.
SPORTS NEWS
Sofia Vidak (S4) recently competed in the International Canicross Federation European Championships in Belgium. There were only two youths picked for the age 15-17 category, one male and one female to represent GB at this international event. Sofia was running with a German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP), Malik. Out of 25 runners in her category she finished sixth.

SENIOR PRIZEGIVING CEREMONY
This annual event celebrates the academic achievement of senior pupils alongside respect and responsibility and service to the school and the community. The event was attended by parents, elected members, sponsors and key partners. Guest speaker was
Kieron Achara, former pupil and professional basketball player. Dux is Fraser Craig and Proxime Accessit is Eva Cairney.
POPPIES FOR SALE
The school is presently selling poppies on behalf of Poppy Scotland. These are available for pupils and to members of the public to purchase. Please call at the school office during school hours.
DESIGN YOUR FUTURE – WORLD OF WORK WEEK
Stirling High School, in partnership with local business partners, Skills Development Scotland and
Developing the Young Workforce Forth Valley, inspired its young people to expand their horizons as they consider how to design their futures.
Every year group was given the opportunity to participate in a range of activities over the course of two weeks. Industry Showcase Day finale took place on Thursday, October 10 and every young person in Stirling High School was given the opportunity to attend the event across the day (984 pupils). Parents and senior pupils from Bannockburn High School joined the event at the end of the day.
CHILDREN IN NEED 2019
This year’s event is being held on Friday, November 15 this year. It is a non-uniform day for pupils and staff (£1 per pupil – no football colours to be worn). Stirling High School is running a few events this year such as Guess Pudsey’s Birthday (two guesses for £1), raffling a large home made Pudsey cake (50p per strip of raffle tickets), crossbar challenge and basketball challenge – more information to follow.

S6 and Prefect photos are being taken on Wednesday, November 13 in the morning. Full school uniform must be worn.

S4/5/6 Study Skills Evening is being held on Tuesday, November 12. Further details to follow.
S4 PARENTS EVENING
This event is being held on Tuesday, November 19 from 4.30-7pm. Details will be issued nearer the time.
NOVEMBER IN-SERVICE DAYS
These are being held on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29. Pupils should not attend school on these days.
