The next Traidcraft stall will be in February. Guild The next meeting is in Church House on Tuesday, January 9, at 2pm when Rev Ellen Larson Davidson will speak on Bible stories in art. Whist drive The monthly Wee Whist in aid of the Reading Room will take place there on Wednesday, Janaury 10, at 7.30pm. Dance The Neil MacEachear­n Band led the successful ceilidh in the village hall on January 1. A splendid raffle enhanced the Reading Room funds by £375. Organisers are grateful for the support received.

Sunday Blethers The first event of 2018 will take place in the village hall from 11am. Parish Church Christmas Eve service led by Rev Dr Valerie Allen was a joyful and heartwarmi­ng event. The offering raised £527.32 for Medic Malawi, which runs an orphanage, school and feeding centre. Sunday worship will take place at 10am, led by Dr Allen. Primary school Enrolment is on Tuesday, January 16, from 10amnoon. SWI The next meeting is on Tuesday, January 9, at 7.30pm in Ruskie Hall. The entertainm­ent will be provided by members and Ruskie’s archives will be on display. Competitio­ns: food item flavoured with whisky and favourite whisky glass. Supper will be cullen skink, Scotch broth, trifle and biscuits and cheese.
