James White hot as Legion sink Tumble

BURRY Port Legion were in winning form in their Llanelli Snooker League encounter with Upper Tumble Blues, claiming a 5-2 victory.

The highlight was a fine 72 break from James White.

Keri Phillips, Rich Nurse and Garnet Lane added wins. Darryl Treharne and James Bradley were on top for Tumble.

Matchroom Whites edged a 4-3 aggregate win at Morfa courtesy of Tyler Rees, Leighton Davies and Ashley Edwards. Rob Hughes, Nigel Rees and Nicky Hughes replied.

It also required the aggregate to separate Trimsaran and Gorseinon Workmen’s, with Trim shading it 4-3 thanks to Jamie Tudor (30 break), Mark Foreman and Wayne Thomas (32).

For the Brighton Road side, Johnny Wilcox (61), Charlie Bolton (30) and Mike Davies won.

Peter Shoulder’s win was all that came between Llanesco and a whitewash as they crashed 6-1 to Snooker World Whites.

For the Ammanford cuemen,

Sam Hinton, John Meadow, Andrew Whitfield, Jamie Gimblett and Callum Jackson all won.

Llanelli Cons came unstuck, Keith Moore and Mike Rees their winning pair in a 5-2 defeat at Reading Room Blues. Peter Kelly, James Ellis (46), Neil Roberts and Chris Howells won for the Burry Port men.

Kieran Evans (38), Shaun Caton and Emyr Bowen gave Pontyberem Workmen’s a 4-3 win against Matchroom Reds. Andrew Rosser, Justin Thomas and Lewis Grey won for Reds.

Adam Griffiths, Keri Davies, Mike Footman and Chris Marston gave Pontarddul­ais Workmen’s a 5-2 win at Ponthenri Social, whose winners were Mark Regola and Kevin Lewis.

In division two, Snooker World Blues hammered New Lodge 6-1 courtesy of Callum Fuge (29), Chris Waters (24 break, 22 clearance), Alan Jones, Steffan Rees and Linden Cox. Only Martin Tucker won for Lodge.

Bryn & Trallwm A defeated a man-short Tycroes RFC 6-1 after Josh Townsend, Clive Richards, Mike Boland and Roy Richards all won. Stuart Williams was the only rugby club frame winner.

It was closer at Matchroom Blacks, where Burry Port Reading Room Reds won 4-3 thanks to Christian Evans, John Dean, Chris Hurley and Phil Payne.

However, the Williams duo of Shane and Thomas rescued the aggregate point for the Blacks.

Just Dai Bunford’s win prevented a whitewash for Cross Hands A, beaten 6-1 by Bryn B, for whom L. Powell, E. Anderson, D. Marks, A. Cruickshan­k and K. Myhill all won.

Matthew Jones and Ray Evans were winners for CGMD Glanaman in a 5-2 loss to the Gremlin Club, whose winners were Bernard Price, Ray Barney, Ryan Burt and Lee Collins.

Pontarddul­ais Cons B beat Llandybie Social B 5-2 as Geraint Thomas, Mark Aberstraw, Keith Williams and Robert Davey won.

Peter Watkins and John Poole replied for the Social.
