Ocean Mist

Restoration of Ocean Mist is complete and the owners have delivered a beautiful boutique hotel at the vibrant mouth of the Water of Leith. Fine eateries and watering holes surround you and Ocean Mist is docked between the East Old Dock and Albert Dock.

Attention to detail is superb, from the welcome and introduction at the Captain’s desk, to the sea reflection mirror ceilings in the cocktail bar, where signature cocktails the Ocean Mist and Nautical can be enjoyed pre and post dinner trips.

When it was time to pipe down we dropped in to the delightful Steering Flat cabin. We enjoyed the wow factor as we passed the refurbished engine and climbed two steps at the doorway. A luxurious comfortable queen bed awaits with Chesterfield seating built into the hull. Portholes allow a view of the shimmering water and reflect that light beautifully. The en-suite again hits the mark with a view into the engine room and a dual shower to ease away the day's stresses.

Detail in the ropes around the ceiling and floors and Ocean Mist robes add to the experience and add a really luxurious touch.

Morning saw us back above board to the top deck for a delicious continental breakfast of coffee, fresh pastries and fruit cocktails. Sitting out on the deck looking up to Edinburgh Castle and watching Leith burst into weekend life was a great way to start the day.

Alas it was land ahoy and after a farewell and thank you to the Captain it was time to disembark after a wonderful stay. Ocean Mist really does bring sunshine to Leith.
