This new series — a five-parter, no less — begins with ‘the GC’ rising with the lark to be a guest presenter on Good Morning Britain.

BRITS ABROAD

Young, Dumb And Banged Up In The Sun, 9pm, 5Star BRITONS reflect on trips gone wrong for this new series. They include Tom, who felt ‘bulletproo­f’ at the start of a hard-partying trip to Thailand. Fast-forward an alarmingly short amount of time and he was on his knees, begging for his life in front of a knifewield­ing hotel owner.

PEDAL TO THE METAL

Speed Freaks, 9pm, ITV4 IN 2015, Idris Elba set a land speed record on sand by gunning a Bentley Continenta­l to 180mph across the Pendine Sands. For this new series, ‘land speed records legend’ Zef Eisenberg (pictured) is determined to beat that, and not by a fraction — he wants to hit 200mph, and sets about the task with enthusiasm and pragmatism.

TIME-HOPPING TALE

Outlander, 9pm, More4 IT’S 1968, and Claire (Caitriona Balfe, pictured) is looking fabulous and excelling as a surgeon. On the inside, though, she’s falling apart — giving up hope of seeing Jamie again has hit her hard. Then, a visitor brings her a fresh perspectiv­e on the future and the past, making this an episode fans won’t want to miss.

SCI-FI FLICK

Pitch Black, 10pm, 5Star DO BE afraid of the dark (as that’s when the beasties come out) in this sci-fi horror. A film that works well on its own merits, but is best remembered for introducin­g hero Riddick (Vin Diesel), bringing out the big guns.

MURDER MYSTERY

Unforgotte­n, 10.10pm, ITV3 A WELCOME repeat for series one of this top cold-case drama. It opens with the discovery of a skeleton that could be 5,000 years old. ‘Is a crime less serious because time’s passed?’ counters DCI Stuart (Nicola Walker) when asked why she’s putting so much effort into learning how this man died.
