New dad Brendan’s night out – without his wife
TV and Radio Reporter TWO days earlier his exhausted wife had tweeted about trying to get their newborn son to sleep.
And here’s dancer Brendan Cole having a late night of his own – cosying up to Scots singer Jenna Lee-James in the early hours of Friday.
Cole, 42, who was dropped from Strictly Come Dancing this year, was seen hugging and talking intently to her as they left Ronnie Scott’s jazz club in Soho at 1.30am.
His wedding ring was visible as he apparently rested his left hand on her bottom while she put an arm around his neck.
At one point Miss Lee-James was seen putting her hand in the father of two’s pocket.
It is thought Cole’s wife, Zoe Hobbs, 37, was at their home in Buckinghamshire, looking after their daughter Aurelia, five, and son Dante, who is less than two months old.
Miss Lee-James, 41, who bears a resemblance to Miss Hobbs, sang in Cole’s touring dance show Brendan Cole All Night Long, which ran from January to March – while Miss Hobbs, his wife of eight years, was pregnant.
Miss Lee-James – born in Clydebank, Dunbartonshire – appeared in pantomime and other shows at Glasgow’s King’s Theatre before moving to London aged 16.
An onlooker said she and Cole stood outside the club for some time, adding: ‘They were flirting, with Jenna playing with Brendan’s scarf and holding hands. They looked like a couple to be honest, and I don’t think his wife would be too happy with his behaviour.
‘You would think they were together if you based it just on the body language.
‘Brendan was recognised by fans and one woman came up to chat. But he only seemed interested in Jenna.
‘They were very touchy-feely and intimate. They walked off together and that was when he seemed to pat her bum.’
Two days earlier Miss Hobbs had tweeted about trying to get their son to sleep.
She wrote: ‘Thank goodness for Ewan the dream sheep and a NZ baby hammock a friend lent us. It’s 2.15 and I’ve finally got the baby to sleep having tried since 8pm!’
Cole was hit by the ‘Strictly curse’ in 2004 when he split from fiancée Camilla Dallerup amid claims of an affair with newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky, which both deny.
Representatives for Cole and Miss Lee-James were approached for comment.
‘They looked like a couple’
