Vikings sport a ‘home’ shirt for Magic Weekend

-

WIDNES will be taking to the field at St James’ Park for the Dacia Magic Weekend on Saturday, May 20 in a third special edition playing shirt.

The shirt, produced by O’Neills Irish Sportswear, carries the traditional Vikings colours of black and white with an uncanny Geordie feel to it.

Main club partner, Play Casino Games, have vacated their front of shirt position to allow the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation to take pride of place at rugby league’s showcase weekend whilst transport giant Stobart, a supporter of the charity, will be prominent on the reverse of the jersey.

Vikings director Brian O’Connor said: “It’s fantastic that for a third year the Vikings will feel more than at home when they take to the field at ● St James’ Park.

“I think that our members and supporters are still immensely proud, not only to take to the streets of Newcastle in black and white stripes, but to support such a fantastic cause in the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

“I have seen first hand the work that they carry out both in the treatment and support given to cancer patients and in the research and developments that they help fund both nationally and internationally.

“I hope our members and the north east public will once again support the shirt initiative and our 2017 Destination Magic campaign which is providing the delivery of the match ball for the opening game of what will no doubt be a fantastic weekend of rugby league.” ● The 2017 Magic Weekend kit and the Destination Magic ball are on sale from the Vikings Superstore inside Tesco Extra, Widnes.

Donations to the Foundation from the sales will also matched by O’Neills Irish Sportswear.

Full details of shirt sizes and prices can be found on the club website: www. widnesvikings.co.uk.
