CASES heard at Burnley Magistrates Court:
SCOTT Heap, 23, of Goodshaw Avenue, Goodshaw, pleaded guilty to sending indecent or grossly offensive phone calls to cause the recipient anxiety or distress and failing to comply with the notification requirements. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £85 costs.
ANDREW Roche, 25, of Spring Terrace, Stacksteads, pleaded guilty to criminal damage. He was ordered to pay £300 compensation
NEIL Catlow, 39, of Kirk Hill Road, Haslingden, pleaded guilty to two counts of benefit fraud. He was given a 13-week jail sentence, suspended for 18 months and ordered to pay £310 costs. CASES heard at Blackburn Magistrates Court:
NAJI Tahir Hamed Al Shummali, 33, of Rifle Street, Haslingden, pleaded guilty to three counts of shoplifting and one count of each of possessing cocaine and failing to surrender into custody having been released on bail. He was given a 14-day jail sentence, suspended for 12 months with a supervision requirement, a six-week curfew requirement and ordered to pay £85 costs.
KEVIN Christopher Melody, 45, of Studd Brow, Whitworth, pleaded guilty to possessing diamorphine. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £300 costs.
GEORGE Michael Taylor, 48, of Todmorden Road, Bacup, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place and failing to surrender into custody having been released on bail. He was given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs.
SIMON Lee Kierans, 32, of no fixed abode, was found guilty after a trial of burglary at the Red Hair and Beauty Salon in Bacup and pleaded guilty to failing to surrender into custody having been released on bail. He was jailed for 20 weeks and ordered to pay £550 compensation.
ANDREW Brearley, 30, of New Line, Britannia, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was given a 12-month community order with a 25-day rehabilitation activity requirement, 40 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £85 costs.
