Day of community wellbeing

A community wellbeing day is to be held this week.

Residents are being invited along to the wellbeing day on Thursday, February 13 at Glenearn Community Campus in Perth.

A range of groups and organisati­ons will be at the event offering activities such as learning Gaelic, recycling, arts and crafts and cooking.

And mental health support groups such as Andy’s Man Club and Mindspace will also be on hand.

A spokespers­on for Perth and Kinross Council said: “The South Perth Community Partnershi­p is holding a free wellbeing day for all ages on Thursday, February 13 at Glenearn Community Campus between 11am and 3pm, and 6pm and 8pm.

“This event will highlight what is available locally for people in terms of help, advice and support.

“There will be opportunit­ies to try a variety of taster sessions with food provided at lunchtime.

“On the day over 30 groups and organisati­ons will be present.

“There will be activities for families and young children such as Gaelic and Scots Bookbug, recycling arts and crafts, street dance, healthy cooking, gardening, games and more.

“There will also be a focus on mental wellbeing with Andy’s Man Club, Women’s Wellbeing Club and Mindspace.

“Informatio­n and advice will be available on how to maintain good physical health including healthy eating, blood pressure testing, falls prevention and the importance of being physically active.

“There will be something for all ages and members of the partnershi­p extend a warm welcome to everyone to come along and take part in the day.”

The South Perth Community Partnershi­p meets monthly at the campus on Glenearn Road, and brings together local groups, services, schools and elected members.
