Wiktoria Mucha, Cameron Wilson, Calum MacGregor, Graeme Baxter, Matthew Doig and Freya Howgate A strong team of Perth Strathtay Harriers travelled to Grangemouth to compete in the Scottish National Championships for athletes with a disability.

Six athletes from the Fair City club were in action and they made sure to treat coaches and support staff to an afternoon of impressive performances.

Freya Howgate won all three of her events with personal best performances in each propelling her up the UK rankings for T37 classification athletes.

The club’s youngest competitor, Cameron Wilson, was taking part in his first national event.

A pupil at St John’s Primary School, Cameron was up against an older field but performed well and was among the medals in his first 100m race of the day.

Perth racerunners were also in sparkling form with Matthew Doig smashing his personal bests in both his 100m and 400m races to add more gold to his collection.

Graeme Baxter, meanwhile, was also celebrating medal success during a busy schedule which included competing in the 100m, 200m and 400m.

Achieving personal bests in the 50m and 100m was Calum MacGregor, who returned to Perth with a gold medal.

Not to be outdone by the boys, Blairgowrie’s Wiktoria Mucha was a triple gold medallist to cap off a stunning set of results.

President of the Harriers, Jim Hunter, said: “The support for our various disability programmes from Perth and Kinross Council has been immense.

“And our outreach work with The Gannochy Trust makes it all possible.

“Special mention, though, for our volunteer coaches and the parents/ carers. Without them nothing could be achieved.”
