Gathering looks at future of BB in Perth and Kinross

-

Boys’Brigade volunteer leaders, young people and national staff came together to discuss the future growth of the BB in Perth and Kinross on Saturday, January 20.

The Brigade strategy of ‘Growth, Quality and Voice’was central to the discussion as the organisation looks to develop its work with children and young people aged five to 18.

John Sharp, director for The Boys’Brigade in Scotland, attended the gathering in Scone. He said:“Our volunteers are at the heart of The Boys’ Brigade’s efforts to make a positive difference in the lives of children and young people.

“The gathering in Scone was a fantastic chance to hear from them and also from the BB young people who attended, on their ideas for 2018 and beyond.

“2018 marks Scotland’s ‘Year ofYoung People’and I hope that we can use this opportunity to ensure that the BB is providing more opportunities for children and young people within Perth and Kinross.”

The gathering, the first of its kind for a number of years, was also attended by Steven Greig, community development manager for The Gannochy Trust, who shared research on youth provision across Perth and Kinross.
