- Rachel Clark

Parents across Perth and Kinross can now register their child for funded early learning and childcare places.

Applications to join any local authority nursery or partner provider centre for three to five year-olds will be accepted until Wednesday, February 14.

There are currently 47 nursery classes, one standalone nursery and 35 partner provider centres across Perth and Kinross that parents can apply to.

Children born between March 1, 2015, and August 31, 2015, are eligible to join at the start of the next school session in August.

For children born between September 1, 2015, and February 28, 2016, nursery classes can start after the Christmas break in January 2019.

For parents whose children were born between January 1, 2016, and February 28, 2016, they can apply for their child to start nursery after next year’s Easter break in April 2019.

Parents whose children will be five years old at the start of the school session in August who have decided to defer entry to primary school are also still eligible to register for a place at nursery school.

To register for a funded nursery place, parents must provide their child’s birth certificate and proof of residency at the time of application.
