A Paisley mum has dropped nearly four stone in weight after the sudden death of her ex-partner left her fearing for her own life.

Laura O’Rorke lost ex Brian unexpected­ly to heart disease in 2016 and panicked that she too could die if she didn’t overhaul her diet.

The mum-of-four worried she would be unable to care for her young children unless she started to eat better and take care of herself.

Now the 34-year-old has vowed to keep the pounds off so she can always be there for her kids.

She said: “Their dad passed away in May 2016 and it hit me - I am the only parent they have left.

“I wasn’t looking after myself and I knew I had to lose weight for the kids.”

Laura, who used to live off fast food and takeaways, joined Weight Watchers to stay motivated in her mission to shed the pounds.

She said: “I’d told family and friends for years that I wanted to lose weight but I would keep putting it off.

“Then I went along to Weight Watchers one day and I’ve never looked back.”

After trying and failing with countless other weight loss plans over a number of years, Laura was relieved that the meal plan at Weight Watchers seemed achievable.

Laura has almost dropped an amazing four stones – going from 17 stones 1lbs to 13 stones 4.5lbs – and has not gained a single pound since the start of the year.
