-

A POP-UP food event will be held in Menai Bridge this Friday, July 10.

The Anglesey Foodslam Night Market is organised by Best of Anglesey which aims to promote locally sourced food and drink on the island.

Between 6pm and 11pm, Menai Bridge’s Prince’s Pier will be host to street food, craft and produce stalls, local brews, cocktails and fizz.

The market will include food stalls by Dylan’s Restaurant, Marram Grass, Menai Tandoori, Hooton’s Homegrown and Harri’s Kitchen among others.

Chair of Best of Anglesey, Alison Lea-Wilson, said: “As a group of producers, retailers and eateries we are very proud of the food offering here on the island.

“Events are a great way to get local people and visitors excited about locally sourced produce, and help promote the area as a top food tourism destination.

“Pop up night markets are becoming very popular across the UK, and we’re delighted to bring one to Anglesey.”

Supported by Isle of Anglesey County Council, the Menai Bridge event is the first of three Foodslams to be held on Anglesey this summer.

Iwan Huws, Principal Development Officer for Tourism, Marketing and Maritime Services at Anglesey Counciil said: “These three new Foodslam events are innovative and will certainly be interesting additions to the varied events calendar on the Island.

“We’re pleased to support anything that promotes Anglesey’s wonderful local produce and the Island’s own food producers and retailers.”

Tickets are priced at £3 for adults (£2 concessions), and children can enter for free.
