Time to Talk at forefront of the wellbeing discusssion
THE whole Time to Talk West Berkshire team were so honoured to be awarded the Charity of the Year in the recent NWN Best in Business Awards alongside some strong competition from other local wonderful charities.
Support from local businesses and organisations is so key to our existence.
Thank you to everyone involved in the awards.
It has been quite a year for us, with the Greenham Trust also awarding us with the Young People’s Charity of the Year accolade.
Community recognition is truly special, especially at a time when one in five young people under 25 experienced an emotional or psychological health problem in 2023, so the need for our services is only increasing.
The delivery of our earlyintervention services as an independent charity to meet this need is only possible through the dedication of so many people alongside the kindness of those that
fundraise on our behalf or work in partnership.
We are always delighted to deliver talks to West Berkshire located companies or organisations to educate your staff or members on how to look after their mental wellbeing – so please reach out to us.
Not only do we provide flexible support services for our community, but we also work tirelessly to be part of the wider conversation around the emotional and psychological wellbeing landscape.
As part of this work our clinical lead, Davina, and her deputy, Kate, spoke at the recent BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapy) Conference.
There is currently a national movement to ensure that there can be a counsellor in every school and Time to Talk West Berkshire is not only in discussion locally to support this initiative, but also nationally.
We are keen to ensure that all counsellors have the appropriate training and so we proposed to those gathered at the conference that all training courses include training on working with CYP (Children & Young People) in their curriculum, ensuring that all counsellors who work with YP have the appropriate skills.
Time to Talk are committed to being at the forefront of these discussions.
