THE family of a baby girl who died after she was taken to hospital from a flat have spoken of their heartache and paid tribute to their ‘little princess.’

Orianna Crilly-Cifrova – just 12 months old – was learning to walk and talk and starting to develop her own ‘little personality,’ her family said in an emotional statement released through police.

The tribute was released after as a man appeared before magistrates in Manchester on Saturday charged with her murder. Orianna’s mother is also facing a criminal charge in connection with her daughter’s death.

Jamie Chadwick – who is not the baby’s father – is charged with a single count of murder.

Chelsea Crilly – identified in court as Orianna’s mother – is charged with causing or allowing the death or serious harm of a child, police confirmed.

The family said in a statement: “As a family we have been asked to say a few words about our beautiful Orianna, but even a thousand words could not begin to describe how much she was loved and how much joy she brought to our lives.

“Orianna was just 12 months old, learning to walk and talk and starting to develop her own little personality.

“She had the cheekiest smile with the biggest brown eyes, a combination that melted out hearts and wrapped us around her little finger.

“She was our gift and cruelly taken from us and we are unsure how we can live without her.

“Orianna was our little princess and she was the centre of her daddy’s world.

The family also said they wouldn’t be releasing a picture of Orianna.

Police said officers and emergency services were called to a property on Cross Lane, Radcliffe, Bury, shortly after 2.25pm on Wednesday.

Orianna was taken to hospital where she later died, police said.

Chadwick, 21, of Cross Lane, Radcliffe, appeared before Manchester and Salford magistrates court on Saturday morning charged with a single count of murder.

There was no application for bail. No plea was entered. Chadwick was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Minshull Street Crown Court tomorrow.

Crilly, 19, of Warwick Road, Atherton, Wigan, also appeared at magistrates court. No plea was entered. An application for bail made on her behalf was refused.

She too was remanded in custody to appear at the same court as Chadwick tomorrow.
