FORMER CORRIE STAR TURNS HEADS FILMING DRAMA
MICHELLE Keegan looked every inch a lady in red - in a tight red dress, Doc Martens and black knee-high socks - filming for Brassic, in Manchester.
The former Coronation Street actress was taking part in a shoot at a makeshift gypsy camp for the six-part show for Sky. Irlam-raised Michelle, who played tragic barmaid Tina McIntyre in Corrie from 2008 to 2014 and is plucky medic Georgie Lane in the BBC1 army drama, Our Girl, is back in the city to film the new Sky One drama.
Filmed around Manchester, Michelle, 31, plays Erin in Brassic, a series which follows a group of friends created by This Is England actor Joe Gilgun and Shameless, Ordinary Lies and Clocking Off writer, Danny Brocklehurst.
She recently attracted an audience of fans in Bacup town centre during filming for the six-part show.
The filming took place across Rossendale, including on Bacup’s South Street, as well as in Rawtenstall, near the former police station on Bank Street and near Broadclough Mill, on Burnley Road.
Michael Almond, from Bacup, spotted film crews in the town as he returned from work and said there were a lot of trucks on Market Street.
He said: “I noticed them filming in the centre of Bacup as I was coming back from work and they were filming just off South Street.
“There were quite a few people including myself watching and it was causing a bit of traffic problems as people kept stopping.
“Michelle Keegan was there surrounded by security guards and there was a Mercedes van ready to take her away when she was done.
“It’s not something that you really see in Bacup.
“I was there for about an hour and they kept filming the same scene over and over again and then moved on to a new one.”
Chantelle Howorth tweeted: “As if Michelle Keegan is filming in Bacup, love her.”
Michelle, who is married to former The Only Way Is Essex star Mark Wright, who now presents US entertainment show Extra, will be on our screens in Brassic next year.
