Silva named as league’s top creative magician
DAVID Silva has been revealed as the Premier League’s most creative player so far this season.
Manchester City’s midfield magician has pipped his team mate Kevin De Bruyne and Manchester United’s Henrikh Mkhitarayn in the stats based table after just seven games.
The Spaniard has contributed to 26% of all of City’s goal scoring opportunities in the league so far this season.
He’s created 23 chances for City with United’s Mkhitaryan second in the list with 19.
The good news for Guardiola and City fans is the third person in the chances created list is De Bruyne who has created 18 chances in just seven games.
De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero come in joint fifth on the assists list with three a piece with Silva leading the way on six.
Silva’s influence hasn’t gone unnoticed as he’s already been described as the best player in the league earlier this season.
Former Blue Joey Barton said: ‘They’ve got the best player in the league – and that’s David Silva. He’s head and shoulders above anyone else and has been for a while. Every pass is the right pass.
“For me, he is the best in the Premier League by an absolute mile. His pass selection, his weight of pass, the way he uses his body... you can’t get the ball off him.
Silva will be hoping his good form continues when the international break finishes as City prepare for a busy end to October.
City have five games before the end of the month in three different competitions starting with Stoke City at the Etihad at the weekend.
