ALVES IS HINTING BLUES DEAL IS DONE

- By CHARLOTTE DUNCKER

JUVENTUS full-back Dani Alves has hinted that he will be joining City this summer.

There have been reports that the Brazil international has agreed a two-year deal with the Blues and the 34-year-old has been discussing his future while back in his home country.

Speaking to Brazilian talk show Conversa com Bial, Alves, pictured, said: “Leaving Juve on a free transfer? I don’t know what’s happening.

“Have I asked to leave? I’ve left the work to my agents, and they’ve said they’d talk to me once they found a resolution.

“If I go, it’ll be without any conflicts, without any problems, as opposed to what’s being said.

“City my next team? Well, everyone knows my admiration for Pep Guardiola …”

Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta appeared to confirm earlier this week that Alves has been freed from his contract.

He said: “Dani Alves has realised that he wants to experience an alternative experience, we will make a consensual resolution and wish him luck. It’s not about a failure, motivation is crucial to a footballer.”

Guardiola is keen to strengthen his defence this summer and after winning three Champions League and six Spanish league titles, as well as the Copa America with Brazil, he would be an experienced head to bring in at the back.
