SALFORD City continued their unbeaten start to the Vanarama National League North campaign with a 2-0 win at local rivals Curzon Ashton.

The Ammies, who were promoted last year and are joint-owned by United’s famous Class of 92, took the lead in the 52nd minute through Jordan Hulme.

They double their advantage 12 minutes later through Simon Grand.

Salford, who host Alfreton Town on Saturday, now have 17 points from their opening seven games and sit joint top with AFC Fylde and Harrogate.

Managerless Altrincham, however, are still looking for their first win of the new campaign after slipping to a 1-0 defeat at Kidderminster Harriers.

Neil Young quit the Robins on Sunday night after a sorry start to the season which has now seen them lose four and draw three of their opening seven matches, leaving them fourth from bottom.

A 43rd-minute strike from Arthur Gnahoua was enough to see off Altrincham.

FC United came from 2-0 down to level against Darlington, only to concede a decisive goal in the 81st minute.

Liam Hardy and Stephen Thompson had given the visitors the lead before Jason Gilchrist and George Thomson netted either side of the break for the Rebels. But Nathan Cartman’s deflected effort broke FC hearts late on.

Danny Lloyd scored just before half-time to give Stockport County victory over Worcester in front of a 2,514 crowd at Edgeley Park.
