FOOTBALL and golf lovers can now enjoy playing a game that combines the skills of both sports.

Cheadle Golf Club has created a 12-hole ‘footgolf ’ course at the pitch and putt facility at Bruntwood Park.

The fast-growing sport is played in the same way as a game of golf except that a football is kicked around the course, instead of clubs being used to hit a golf ball.

Players use their skill to kick a football around trees, out of sand bunkers and on to the green.

As in golf, the aim is to get the ball into the hole in the fewest number strokes possible.

The course will be available on a ‘turn up and play basis’ on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings between 5pm and 8pm throughout the school summer holidays.

The club will also open the course on other eve-

of nings for bookings.

There is a fee of £8 for adults, £5 for concessions and £20 for families, which includes a £5 deposit for the hire of a football.

For bookings contact c h e a d l e g o l f c l u b @ ms n . com or phone 0161 428 9878.
