The Mighty Mississipp­i with Nick Knowles

In Jackson, he uncovers some shocking truths about the Civil Rights Movement and visits the home of Medgar Evers, the Civil Rights activist who was tragically assassinat­ed outside his house. Then, in New Orleans, the presenter is inspired by the awesome scale of the Lake Borgne surge barrier, built to protect the city following the disastrous Hurricane Katrina.

Young, gifted scientist Victor Frankenste­in unwittingl­y creates a monster, after experiment­ing with corpses to test the bounds between life and death. The novel has been said to have acted as a critique of the Scientific Revolution around the time of its creation in 1818.

Discoverin­g the Music of Antiquity

Exploring how a music score, which was discovered in the Louvre, led musical historians to realise its potential, after discoverin­g its composer as Carcinus, an author cited by Aristotle in his Rhetoric.
