Plans for 24-hour vets hospital get go-ahead
PLANS for a new vets in Macclesfield have been given the go-ahead.
Proposals for a veterinary hospital and emergency veterinary care service were approved by Cheshire
East Council on Monday, May 16.
The application was submitted by Orbit Investments and the business will be situated at Unit 107, Heather
Close, on Lyme Green Industrial Estate.
Plans state that the unit has remained empty since
THG Studios left in February last year.
And that the new hospital will be open 24-hours every day of the week, including bank holidays.
The design and access statement reads: “The proposed veterinary tenants deliver emergency veterinary care nationwide. Its network of pet emergency clinics extends across over 50 locations, working in partnership with over 1,000 practices to provide out-of-hours services.”
Plans also state that the unit will provide six consulting rooms, two operating theatres, a CT-scanner, ultrasound and x-ray facilities and a number of treatment rooms.
The new veterinary hospital will be open 24-hours per day. The daytime services will be available from 8am to 7pm with out-of-hours services available outside of these times.
It will also create new jobs in Macclesfield, with the daytime centre comprising five full-time vets, three part-time vets, six full-time registered veterinary nurses, one student veterinary nurse (SVN) and six receptionists in both full and part-time roles.
The out-of-hours service will be staffed by three full-time vets, three full-time RVNs and three full-time receptionists.
Orbit Developments has included two electric vehicle and two disabled parking spaces.
They have also added a cycle store.
